    Request to Speak

    Hello Crystal,

Im the representative for Southeast Works and am requesting your presence at our annual forum to speak with the other assembly hopefuls running for office. Please find the detailed letter below as well as the flyer and airtimes attached, and let me know if you will be able to make it!

    Thank You!

    Amanda Baumler

Candidate’s Hour at Southeast Works is scheduled for Friday, October 10th, beginning at 10:00 am until 11:30 am. We are pleased to have the Developmental Disabilities Alliance of Western New York (DDAWNY) as a sponsor of this event.

You are encouraged to attend Candidate’s Hour. As past years have proven, this is a powerful opportunity to present your campaign positions and presence to a packed house. The audience will be most concerned with your positions that affect the interests of persons with developmental disabilities and their families. The format is as follows:

    • No candidate debate or audience participation. You will be given 3 uninterrupted minutes to present your platform.

    • Candidates and voters refreshment session after forum

    • Media coverage of the entire event and pre election airing a number of times on local public television station. This year, the program will air 12 times before election day.

    • Prior press release of Candidate’s Hour, confirmed attendees (by name) and dates of scheduled airings will occur 5 days before the date of the event.

In order to plan the agenda for the event, we would appreciate an immediate response to this invitation with commitment, if you will be present on the 10th. Please call Amanda at 683-7100, x212 or email [email protected] to confirm attendance.

WE WILL HANG YOUR CAMPAIGN LAWN SIGNS IN OUR AUDITORIUM FOR THE EVENT IF YOU ARE ABLE TO GET TWO COPIES DELIVERED TO 181 LINCOLN ST. BY 2 PM ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8th.

Thank you. We look forward to seeing you at Candidate’s Hour on Friday October 10th.

Fortunately there is a way that we can all contribute to making a difference, and your support of this event will help to make this fundraiser extremely successful. We are in need of donations in many different forms. Some of those include, finger foods, gift cards and baskets to be raffled off, and financial assistance. All proceeds from this event will be going directly to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

We are expecting a very large and diverse crowd that will include local politicians, athletes, restaurateurs, and professionals. This would be a great time to support a worthy cause, and also network and meet some of Buffalo’s best individuals. Please consider any donation a huge help, and accept our sincerest Thank You for your support.

    Dear Assemblywoman Peoples:

Once again, we would like to congratulate you on running for office this year; public service is one of our highest callings and those elected to serve have a daunting but inspiring task ahead.

Last week, we sent you a candidate survey to fill out in the mail. We would like to gently remind you to complete the survey by no later than 12 pm on Thursday August 28, as results will be published in Artvoice. Please email the completed survey as an attachment to [email protected] Those who do not respond will be listed in the publication and noted as “Chose not to respond to survey”.

Arts and culture is an important contributor to the area’s economic development, tourism, quality of life, education, and national identity. As such, ASI feels it is important to gauge our candidates’ views on the cultural sector. For your convenience, please download this survey atwww.asiwny.org in order to be able to fill it out electronically and make sure you stay within the word limits of each question.

Completed surveys will be printed unedited (except for those answers that exceed the word limit) in Artvoice prior to the primary election and will be made available throughout the election season electronically via Artvoice, Arts Services Initiative of WNY, Greater Buffalo Cultural Alliance/Cultural Alliance of Niagara, and many cultural organizations. In total, it is estimated that this survey will be seen by well over 75,000 constituents of the cultural community.

Here at Arts Services Initiative of Western New York (ASI), advocacy for the cultural sector is an important part of what we do in service of the area’s 300-plus not for profit cultural organizations, their thousands of employees, and the hundreds of thousands who invest in the cultural sector through their attendance, service, and donations.

Please contact Arts Services Initiative at 716-362-8389 x510 or at [email protected] if you have any questions or need any further information. On behalf of the cultural sector and its supporters, we look forward to your response.

    Sincerely,
